Efficient Newmarket: Boston's Industrial Green Corridor-
Efficient Newmarket will identify cost-effective strategies to advance energy efficient and clean energy opportunities in the Newmarket Business District, a critical
warehousing, food distribution, and light industrial area in the heart of Boston. Anchored by sustainable technical assistance workshops, a $5 million loan fund for
energy efficiency retrofits and renewable energy installations, and sustainable transportation and infrastructure improvements, Efficient Newmarket strategically
targets a well-defined business district that includes nearly 500 employers and 11,000 employees. Efficient Newmarket will develop and demonstrate a model for
creating integrated eco-industrial zones out of existing urban industrial districts.
